OUR DOCTRINAL POSITION We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible Word of God. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in the Genesis account of creation. We believe in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. We believe that salvation is the free gift of God by grace, through faith and is possessed by each individual who has, by grace through faith, received the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling empowers Christians to live a godly life. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved, unto the resurrection of eternal life in a literal heaven and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation, in a literal hell. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the head of HIS body, the one true Church. We believe that through the gift of faith, God draws those who will believe the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that God’s grace, mercy and love endures forever. WHY GET A SEMINARY OR UNIVERSITY DEGREE? If the question is; “Does a degree make you any more proficient or even more broadly educated?” The answer is, unfortunately, probably not. Once a Bachelor’s degree acquired in a traditional college or university implied a soundly educated person. However, that was long ago. It is fascinating to consider how little academic standing, has to do with success. A 30-year study by Duke University showed that, for the most part, their graduates having the lowest SAT scores and lowest Grade Point Average (GPA) had become more financially successful than their “brilliant” graduates. But, if the question is; “Does a degree help you get a better job and advance to higher positions?” The answer appears to be a resounding yes. You may be self-educated and experienced to perfection, but unfortunately, you are in a deficit position without that degree! Please do not misunderstand what is expressed here: The goal of Northwestern Theological Seminary is not to enhance people’s ability to acquire material wealth, or financial reward. Our goal is to equip and educate so that you will be a proficient, ethical, educated individual, who will be able to excel in your life of Christian service. Christianity is a servant hood lifestyle and as educated Christians, we are better prepared to serve the Lord and better enabled to help others in our profession, in our ministry and in our personal lives. Jesus told us to be wise as serpents, but harmless as doves. We are to be in the world, but not of the world. Therefore, we are responsible to grow in knowledge and be educated so that we can be good examples of Christ, as we witness to others in our daily lives. Consequently, we must be realistic, we must recognize reality and respond to it intelligently. This means that eventually, achieving an accomplished position in your ministry, church vocational career, secular job, and public or social life will depend on having your Bachelor, Master and Doctorate degrees. It may be unfortunate, but this is reality and we, as responsible Christians, must be diligent in acquiring an education. There are many benefits of a good education, and you will be deserving of its many privileges. For instance, once you have earned your degrees, you will then be legally entitled to list them on your resume or job application. Your valued letters of accomplishment: The (Th.D.) Doctor of Theology, (D.D.) Doctor of Divinity, or (Ph.D.) Doctor of Philosophy, provides you all of the legal rights and privileges, of the title Doctor. online degrees | Seminary education | accredited degrees | salvation | world missions ministries | apply for online degree | welcome from president |Web hosting and Design by Florida Webcrafters |
